✨What Is VersaCal® Bright?
Base Material: Food-grade calcium phosphate, part of Innophos's VersaCal series. The "Bright" suffix denotes a specific grade optimized for high whiteness, narrow particle size distribution, and suitability for visual replacement of TiO₂.
Not a novel structural color or fermented/plant-extracted pigment — it is an inorganic mineral powder that provides whiteness and opacity through refractive index and light scattering, the same physical whitening approach as TiO₂. However, its refractive index (~1.63) is lower than TiO₂ (~2.7), so particle size optimization and surface treatment are necessary to approximate visual performance.
